After conducting my VRIN analysis, I came to the conclusion that my top resource is human capital. This seemed to be the only resource that is valuable, rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable. While it is true that anyone is capable of exhibiting some of the aforementioned human capital traits, it is a different story when considering whether people truly do embody them. For this reason, I did consider human capital, such as the ability to provide constructive criticism and receptiveness to feedback, to be rare.

  1. Hi Michael,
I am impressed with your specificity and appreciate the thought you placed on your responses. I would agree with your conclusion that human capital is the most valuable resource for your organization, although your financial resources and social resources are also very valuable to your start-up. It is clear that your tenacity and conscientiousness have driven your social capital and fostered those professional relationships as well.

  2. Michael, amazing job on this assignment! It is really well organized and thought out. The resources that you include in your list are useful, very specific, and set you apart from your competition. The resource on your list that stood out to me while I read through your post was the connections you mention having. It is great that you already have some strong connections in such early stages of your product’s development.

  3. Hi Michael, I really enjoyed your list, it was 100 percent on topic, with great details, and specifics. It seems that you really are making this product tangible, not just pushing out assignments, and I hope you do! Having your resources, such as the money and having personal connections to help you, will definitely boost production on your safety helmet. Great work, can't wait to see a prototype in the future!
